On May 11th, 2023, China Quality Certification Center (CQC) issued a notice on the implementation of new standards and certification rules for household and similar electric automatic controllers. The new version of GB/T 14536.1-2022 "Electric Automatic Controller Part 1: General Requirements" was implemented on July 1, 2023.
China Quality Certification Center (CQC) revised CQC13-448321-2016 Safety Certification Rules for Household and Similar Electrical Automatic Controllers, which related to the standards in Table 1.

Main revision contents of the rules
1. The name of the rule was changed from Safety Certification Rules for Household and Similar Electric Automatic Controllers to Safety Certification Rules for Electric Automatic Controllers;
2. according to the standard update
◆ GB/T 14536.3-2022 replaces GB/T 14536.3-2008 and GB/T 14536.5-2008；;
◆ GB/T 14536.6-2022 replaces GB/T 14536.6-2008；;
◆ GB/T 14536.10-2022 replaces GB/T 14536.10-2008；;
◆ GB/T 14536.13-2022 replaces GB/T 14536.13-2008；;
◆ GB/T 14536.15-2022 replaces GB/T 14536.15-2008；;
3. Add GB/T 14536.1-2022 according to the standard;
4. Modify the applicable product range;
5. The validity period of the certificate is changed from long-term to 5 years;

Implement new standard requirements
1. From the date of issuance of the notice to June 30, 2023, the certification applicant may voluntarily choose to apply for certification according to the new standard or the old standard; From July 1, 2023, CQC will adopt the new standard for certification and issue the new standard certification certificate.
2. For certified products, the certification applicant can submit an application for certificate replacement to CQC from the date of issuance of the notice. According to the differences between the old and new standards (see annex), the relevant difference test is made for this standard change, and the new version of the standard certification certificate can be renewed after the CQC evaluation is qualified.
3. The conversion of the old standard certification will end on June 30, 2024, and the certification that has not been converted within the time limit will be suspended; Certificates that have not completed the edition change before October 1, 2024 will be revoked.
