On May 31, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) issued Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BTTTT, which will replace Circular No. 02/2022/TT-BTTTT, with the following major changes:
1. Enable the following new standards:
◆ QCVN 130:2022/BTTTT - RF EMC standard for wireless audio equipment
◆ QCVN 131:2022/BTTTT – RF Standard for EUTRA NB-IoT
◆ QCVN 132:2022/BTTTT - Security standard for tablets, desktops and laptops, DECT phones, set-top boxes and televisions (This standard will be mandatory from 1 January 2024)
◆ QCVN 18:222 /BTTTT - 76-77 GHz and 5G radar RF EMC standard
2, QCVN 65:2013/BTTTT will be invalid, QCVN 65:2021/BTTTT will be mandatory.
3. NFC 13.56MHz and SRD 5.8GHz have been moved to Annex 2. Only the declaration of conformity is mandatory.
4. 5G NR devices must support both SA and NSA. Type approval certificates for 5G devices only with 5G SA or 5G NSA will remain valid until June 30, 2024.
According to the new circular, the type approval certificate must be updated to the new standard and the test report of the new safety or EMC standard must be obtained. Although the effective date was expected to be July 1, 2023 when the MIC issued this draft notice in February 2023, the final and official effective date is July 15, 2023.
