The purpose of this regulation is to determine the percentage of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment and its accessories (including toys) within the scope of the regulation and to ensure that suppliers shall follow conformity assessment procedures to ensure the protection of the environment and the health and safety of consumers.

The restricted substances and control limits required by the new regulations are as follows:

From June 2022, in addition to meeting the requirements of its own technical regulations, the above-mentioned products must also meet the limit of hazardous substances and obtain a RoHS compliance certificate before entering the Saudi Arabian market.

If the certificate of conformity has been obtained and the certificate is currently valid, it must be declared that the product meets the limit requirements of hazardous substances specified in the regulations, and it must be included in the technical file and saved to avoid export obstruction.

    Reminder

Foreign access regulations require frequent updates. ZRLK recommends that relevant companies improve their risk awareness of their products, always pay attention to the updates of relevant regulations, and make adjustments according to the latest product requirements to ensure that the export of products containing restricted substances meets the latest regulatory requirements and avoid trade risks!
