Recently, SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization) notified to update some IECEE standards and regulations related to products, with reference as follows:
Electronic and electrical products with charging cable
When the charging cable is shipped as an accessory, it is also required to provide the safety test report of IEC62368-1:2018 issued by a laboratory with relevant standards and CNAS qualification, and the photo of its outer packaging is also required as a necessary document for applying for IECEE certification.
Common products with USB charging cable are mobile phones, wireless headsets, tablet computers, charging treasures and so on.
Update of IEC 60335-1 standard for electrical products
According to the decision on updating the Saudi standard SAOGSO IEC 60335-1 at the SASO (125th) meeting, the certification body will no longer accept the old standard report from September 24th, 2023, and the related products need to provide the updated IEC 60335-1:2020 or SAOGSO IEC 60335-1: 2022 standard report.
Update of IEC 61215 standard for photovoltaic products
According to the decision of SASO Board of Directors at the (149th) meeting on updating the series of Saudi standard SASO IEC 61215, the updated version of IEC 61215 certification standard will be fully activated from February 8, 2024, with reference to the following:
